Immerse yourself in selections from our upcoming concert series, Machaut: Messe de Nostre Dame. Guillaume de Machaut's Medieval Mass setting is the first large-scale musical work in the Western canon, and it was composed by one of the true luminaries of the late Middle Ages. This evening will feature excerpts from Machaut's Messe, a smattering of contemporaneous secular chansons, and commentary and insights into the historical and artistic context of each composition.
Take a step back in time to the Middle Ages with members of the ensemble over wine, charcuterie, and cheese as they share their passion for this period of music history, which is the cornerstone of Chanticleer’s musical foundation.
